Governing Law: This policy is governed by the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) of South Africa. Where we also process data relating to individuals in the United Kingdom, we additionally comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). Where these laws differ, we apply the higher standard of protection.

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Contact information: email address, phone number (where provided)
  • Transaction information: ticket purchase details and booking references. Note: payment card data is processed directly and securely by Quicket, we do not store payment card information.
  • Marketing preferences: whether you have opted in to receive show updates, news and promotional communications from us
  • Enquiry information: any information you choose to share when contacting us via our contact form, sponsor enquiry form, or partner outreach
  • Competition entries: information submitted as part of any competition or prize draw hosted on our website
  • Technical information: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and time spent on site, collected via cookies and analytics tools (see our Cookie Policy)

We do not collect any special personal information as defined under POPIA (such as information concerning race, health, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs) through this website.

  • Directly from you, when you purchase a ticket, complete a contact or enquiry form, sign up to our mailing list, or enter a competition
  • Automatically, via cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website
  • Via third-party platforms, Quicket (ticketing) and Google Analytics (website analytics)

4. Why We Process Your Information

We process your personal information for the following purposes, on the following grounds:

  • To process your ticket booking, necessary for the performance of our contract with you
  • To respond to your enquiry or sponsor/partner contact, based on our legitimate interest in operating and developing the business
  • To send you marketing communications, only where you have given us your explicit consent. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • To administer competitions, based on consent and our legitimate interests
  • To analyse and improve our website, based on our legitimate interest in maintaining an effective digital presence
  • To comply with legal obligations, where the law requires us to retain or disclose your information

5. Marketing Communications

We will only contact you for marketing purposes if you have explicitly opted in. Every marketing communication includes a clear and simple option to unsubscribe at any time. You can also opt out by emailing liam@resurrectionfiles.com.

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

6. Who We Share Your Information With

We only share your information where necessary, and only with the following categories of recipients:

  • Quicket, our ticketing platform, for the purpose of processing and managing your booking. Quicket operates under its own privacy policy.
  • Google LLC, for website analytics via Google Analytics. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.
  • Email marketing platforms, if you have opted in to our mailing list, we may use a third-party platform to manage and send communications to you.
  • The South African Information Regulator or other legal authorities, where we are required by law to disclose your information.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with sponsors, brand partners or commercial third parties without your explicit consent.

7. Transfer of Information Outside South Africa

Some of our service providers, including Google LLC (Google Analytics) and any email marketing platform we use, may store or process your information outside South Africa. Where this occurs, we ensure that the recipient country or organisation provides an adequate level of protection as required under POPIA Section 72.

Where we process data relating to UK residents, any transfers outside the UK are conducted in accordance with UK GDPR requirements, including the use of appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.

8. How Long We Keep Your Information

  • Ticket purchase and transaction records: 5 years, for financial record-keeping and legal compliance
  • Marketing opt-in records: retained until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent
  • Contact and enquiry records: 2 years from the date of last communication
  • Competition entry data: deleted within 3 months of the competition closing date, unless you have separately opted in to our mailing list
  • Website analytics data: retained in accordance with Google Analytics default settings (up to 26 months)

After these periods, your information will be securely deleted or anonymised.

9. Your Rights

Under POPIA, you have the following rights in relation to your personal information:

Right of Access

You may request a record of the personal information we hold about you.

Right to Correction or Deletion

You may request that we correct inaccurate information or delete information we no longer have grounds to hold.

Right to Object

You may object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Right to Withdraw Consent

Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

If you are based in the United Kingdom, you additionally have rights under UK GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to erasure.

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, destruction, or alteration. Payment data is processed directly by Quicket using industry-standard encryption, we do not store your payment card details.

11. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, including Quicket, social media platforms, and partner sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to read their own policies.

12. Children

Our website is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
